
TOURISMO TOURism Innovative and Sustainable Management of flOws Infoday Workshop
On February 11-12, 2025, Fondazione per la Ricerca e l’Innovazione, through the TOURISMO Infoday Workshop, fostered a key opportunity for exchange and in-depthdiscussion on emerging challenges in the tourism sector.
The event brought together experts and key stakeholders to discuss strategies and methodologies aimed at promoting more responsible tourism, enhancing the livability of destinations, and encouraging active dialogue among industry players.
A Discussion on the Challenges of Sustainable Tourism
The February 11 session, hosted at the Firenze Welcome Center, provided an overview of the TOURISMO project‘s objectives, activities, and expected outcomes.
The event opened with a presentation on the evolution from HERIT-DATA to TOURISMO, highlighting how the new project has enhanced innovative data analysis and management tools to mitigate the impact of mass tourism.
The discussion then focused on TOURISMO’s objectives and main initiatives, with a particular emphasis on AI-driven solutions to optimize tourist flows.
Snap4City, the project’s IT platform, was also showcased. Leveraging data from advanced sensors and AI systems, it delivers intuitive dashboards designed to empower public administrations and industry professionals with actionable insights.
A dedicated segment was reserved for the Florence pilot project and transnational experiences, fostering an exchange between local stakeholders and international partners.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, designed to stimulate a dynamic dialogue between experts and participants.

Training and Innovation: Snap4City at the Core of Governance
On February 12, at the Plesso Didattico Morgagni, a Training Session led by the DISIT Lab, specifically designed for project partners, explored the use of the Snap4City system, highlighting its strategic role in optimizing territorial governance.
The training provided a detailed overview of the platform’s tools, with a practical focus on developing advanced dashboards capable of integrating and analyzing complex data to support smart destination management.
Participants had the opportunity to explore Snap4City’s potential in tailoring solutions to diverse operational needs.
