The Confucius Institute
The Confucius Institute of Florence was established in March 2014 as a result of the collaboration between the University of Florence and Tongji University (Shanghai). It is recognized and funded by the Chinese Ministry of Education with a mission of promoting and teaching Chinese language and culture thus facilitating cultural exchanges. The Institute also offers a variety of courses to suit a wide range of learners, from complete beginners to intermediate speakers and advanced Chinese for students who have completed their intermediate Chinese courses; besides, business and tourism Chinese courses.
From its inception in 2014, the Confucius Institute at the University of Florence has been active in bringing outstanding examples of Chinese arts and culture:
- March 31, 2014 – Inauguration
- September 27, 2014 – Confucius Institute Day
- February 3, 2015 “Modernity and Permanence in Architecture China and Italy”
