.
A TOURISMO project initiative with the Municipality of Florence, the University, and the Foundation for Research and Innovation
Managing tourist flows more effectively means making Florence more livable, for both residents and visitors.
The Municipality of Florence is about to launch a pilot project in the coming days, installing thermal cameras throughout the UNESCO World Heritage historic center to monitor tourist flows in real time.
The initiative is part of the European TOURISMO Project and is being carried out in collaboration with the University of Florence and the Foundation for Research and Innovation. The goal is to gather accurate data to help regulate access, guide visitor routes, prevent overcrowding, and safeguard residents’ quality of life.
Through innovative tools and advanced technologies, Florence continues to position itself as a smart city, welcoming and open to visitors, while also focusing on sustainability and the well-being of its community.
